Sometimes it can be a problem when you need a specific website to open in Internet Explorer and your default browser is another like Firefox. To create a shortcut that only opens in Internet Explorer follow this guide. Right click on your Desktop and click New, then Shortcut.
A wizard will open, click the “Browse” button and search to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe. Select it and click OK.
At the end of the line (after iexplore.exe) type in the web address of the site you wish to open e.g. “http://www.website.com” – entering the quote marks as well. Click next and then enter the name for your new Shortcut, click Finish.
When your new shortcut is clicked it will now only open in Internet Explorer.
